Technical Sales Engineer (Pocklington)
We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to liaise with customers, perform quotations, sales and contract fulfilment duties and provide technical knowledge of diesel generators.

Project Engineer (Electrical/Controls) (Pocklington)
This role requires a commercially-astute project engineer with an engineering background. It is a hands-on role, requiring the ability to design layout rooms and electrical circuits associated with diesel generator installations and control systems. Knowledge of diesel generators, control systems and installation layouts is required.

Group Management Accountant (Pocklington/South Kirkby)
We require a management accountant for the management of a multi site finance department. Duties will include the production of management accounts and management information for Group companies and trading divisions.

Service Engineers for Diesel Generators (York, South Kirkby, Runcorn, Bristol, London)
Service Engineers required to carry out the maintenance and installation of diesel generators and peripherals either in situ at customer premises throughout the UK or based in our workshop at Pocklington Industrial Estate, York. Mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge preferred. Hands-on capability with installations and electrical work required.

THE ROLE

  • Customer liaison, quotations, sales and contract fulfilment duties
  • Producing technical quotations for diesel generators and installations
  • Provide technical advice to customers on diesel generators
  • Regular follow-ups to maximise orders won
  • Managing orders through to fulfilment with operations support
  • Build strong customer relationships

DAILY TASKS

  • Quotations and follow-up
  • Customer liaison as appropriate
  • Creation of documentation as necessary
  • Contract fulfilment activities
  • Support to operation teams as appropriate.
  • Other job-related activities as requested from time-to-time
  • Produce Management Reports as necessary

SKILLS

  • Technical ability to grasp engine/generator technical aspects for quotations
  • Supplier management skills
  • First class customer service skills gained from customer service experience
  • Experience/skills in the production of accurate quotations within tight deadlines
  • Clear and confident verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of and ability to sell products and services to customers
  • An aptitude and willingness to understand or learn the technical aspects of the business, notably in repairs and spares
  • High standard in use of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet
  • Ability to work with IT tools. Everyday use of CRM system (Act) and “Service Director” is required; training will be provided but the successful applicant will need an aptitude for the use of such IT tools.

  • Using Auto Cad, design generator room installation layouts
  • Using Auto Cad, design control systems for generator control
  • Using Auto Cad, design electrical schematics for complete generator installations
  • Programming control systems
  • Customer technical support and liaison
  • Occasional attendance to site for pre-sale technical support with consultants, contractors and end users
  • Occasional attendance to site for installation, commissioning, general assistance and postsale technical support as necessary
  • Control system wiring
  • Providing hands-on assistance and advice to workshop staff as necessary
  • PLC / Deep Sea / Deif programming work

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree calibre
  • Experience preferable but recent graduates would also be considered
  • Electrical/electronic/control system engineering knowledge

  • Production of timely management information on a weekly basis
  • Production of timely management accounts on a monthly basis
  • Integration of accounting software packages
  • Day to day cash management
  • Finance support and guidance to senior management
  • Project cost tracking
  • Management of staff
  • Inter company reconciliations
  • Letter of Credit documentation and processing

Qualifications & Skills
Qualified or good part qualified finalist – ACCA or CIMA. Experience within industry is preferable. The role will suit a hands-on individual who enjoys variety in their work and who can be flexible to meet the exacting requirements of our customers.

DAILY TASKS

  • Carry out minor and major services to diesel engine generator sets at customer sites
  • Visit customer sites to perform site surveys in order to assist in project design and proposals
  • Visit customer sites to perform, but not limited to, diesel generator installations
  • Visit customer sites to perform commissioning in liaison with electrical contractors
  • Hands-on installation work
  • Emergency call outs to customer breakdowns
  • Attendance at relevant product training courses
  • Any other relevant duties as may be required from time to time

SKILLS

  • Mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge preferred
  • Diesel generator knowledge preferred
  • IEE regs (beneficial)
  • Part P (beneficial)

LOCATION
Various locations (York, South Kirkby, Runcorn, Bristol and London). Regular travel to customer premises, installations and suppliers based within the UK. Motor vehicle provided.
